Holidaymakers Return to Cyprus
It looks like the number of people arriving on cheap flights to Cyprus is back on the increase after January's dip. In February 2011, the number of visitors to the luxury island increased by 12.7% to mark a strong period of growth. The majority of this increase came from the German market, which showed a 95.6% increase in visitors year-on-year. Tourism in Cyprus is always bound to attract holidaymakers because of the glorious weather, no doubt created by the close proximity to the African continent, and the amazing beaches that hug the coast.
It could also have something to do with the celebrated mythology that clings to the island like a veil. Enjoying a Luxury Family Holiday The fact that people are starting to return to the island could be as a result of renewed interest in the luxury family holiday. One of the main attractions for families seeking a holiday closer to home over the past couple of years was reduced costs. Cyprus, despite its luxury status, can be deceptively cheap for holidaymakers.
The flight times are also convenient - giving people a sense of a far off destination but without spending too many hours on a plane. From January to February the number of visitors increased by more than 5% and this could well continue as we approach spring and summer. There are regular flights to Cyprus with Larnaca and Paphos Airports providing access to both the north and south of the island for holidays.
